Most guests come in summer, which is understandable, but it is not the only right answer. In February the almond trees blossom while central Europe is still in winter. In April and October you walk at fifteen to twenty degrees, whereas in August those same paths in the midday heat are no pleasure. In May the corsairs land on the beach, in December the oranges hang ripe in the groves and at midnight mass a child sings a song from the ninth century. This page sorts it all by month, so that you can see when the valley is doing exactly what you are looking for.
The fixed dates come from the town's own calendar and repeat year after year. If you need it more precisely, concerts or exhibitions in the week you are travelling, just ask Paula and her team. They know what is on, and that is in no calendar.
These dates are announced on top of the fixed rhythm of the year, and they stay here only while they are current. After that they drop off by themselves. The list is not complete, because a good deal in the valley is only announced two or three weeks ahead; Paula and her team will know more for the week you are coming.
Sóller, Can Prunera
The composer and musician presents “Lo pi de Mallorca” and “Poesia, Poesia”, the first two pieces from his new album, inspired by the work of the poet Miquel Costa i Llobera. Both can be heard in public for the first time at 12 noon, followed by a conversation with musicians from the project. Admission is free, but registration with Can Prunera is required.
Sóller and Port de Sóller, twelve restaurants
Twelve restaurants in the valley cook with the mushrooms of the season during these weeks, as a set menu or as individual dishes; the offers are listed on menjatsoller.com and change with what the forest yields. Some houses close for winter before the end of November, and there the offer runs until their last day of the season.
Deià
The Movicanto series carries on in the neighbouring village, every Wednesday at 6 pm until mid-December. Half an hour’s drive along the coast road.
Sóller, Botanical Garden (MUCBO)
The artist Maria Abando Olaran shows lamps of Mallorcan sheep’s wool shaped after the fine structures of radiolarians, together with small creatures made of screws, wire and springs. It pairs well with a walk through the garden.

The quietest chapter of the year. It is mild in the valley, there can be snow on the tops, and towards the end of the month the first almond trees open.
