Most guests come in summer, which is understandable, but it is not the only right answer. In February the almond trees blossom while central Europe is still in winter. In April and October you walk at fifteen to twenty degrees, whereas in August those same paths in the midday heat are no pleasure. In May the corsairs land on the beach, in December the oranges hang ripe in the groves and at midnight mass a child sings a song from the ninth century. This page sorts it all by month, so that you can see when the valley is doing exactly what you are looking for.
The fixed dates come from the town's own calendar and repeat year after year. If you need it more precisely, concerts or exhibitions in the week you are travelling, just ask Paula. She knows what is on, and that is in no calendar.
These dates are announced on top of the fixed rhythm of the year, and they stay here only while they are current. After that they drop off by themselves. The list is not complete, because a good deal in the valley is only announced two or three weeks ahead; Paula will know more for the week you are coming.

The quietest chapter of the year. It is mild in the valley, there can be snow on the tops, and towards the end of the month the first almond trees open.
